Landscape Forms

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Project Area: 166,066 SF

Year Completed: 2015

Founded in 1969, Landscape Forms is the industry leader in integrated collections of high-design site furniture and advanced LED lighting that enhance the experience of outdoor space. To meet their production demands, Landscape Forms hired us to renovate space within the existing Midlink Business Park in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This 166,000 SF facility was designed to be their center for powder coat finishing, assembly, and shipping due to its strategic location, adjacent to the I-94 East/West transit corridor. The centerpiece of the new facility is the new energy efficient Monorail Powder Coat System which replaced their existing system and allowed Landscape Forms to increase its spray-finish capacity in order to meet increasing demands while also allowing them to handle a wider range of product sizes and material substrates.

The renovation also included three enclosed pavilions within the MidLink building: an office space with a large employee breakroom, a lighting lab, shipping office, label room, and a paint test room which provides space for small scale testing prior to a product entering the larger scale powder coat system. The office space is accessible from the main entry and includes a small collaboration/workroom, two larger conference rooms, private office space, and collaborative work stations. Additionally, the office space includes a large breakroom, locker rooms, and kitchenette which provides a comfortable and inspirational space for all staff.
