Since 1975, Friendship Village of Kalamazoo has been the premier senior living facility, offering more than 300 residents a lifestyle that promises choice, independence, privacy, and security. This project included the addition of a new 16,000-square-foot skilled nursing and rehabilitation wing with sixteen private resident rooms and support spaces, a secure dementia/memory care wing with private rooms, and the conversion of several independent living apartments into assisted living apartments in order to accommodate its current and future facility needs.

The interior renovations included new finishes, improved lighting, handrails, and improved life safety systems, such as fire alarms and automatic sprinklers. Additional improvements include a new entrance area with a porte cochere and front porch, improved commons area, and a renovated dining room as well as a 4,000-square-foot wellness center. The wellness center features a physical fitness area for strength training and cardio exercise, a group fitness studio, and an alternate therapy treatment room.
