Iron County Medical Care Facility

Iron County Medical Care Facility (ICMCF) expanded and renovated portions of the existing facility located at 1523 Highway US 2, Crystal Falls, Michigan.

The main goals for this project: create a 44-bed Special Needs Unit, create a dedicated Short Term Rehabilitation Unit, provide a Day Room and Dining Room at Spruce Street and update room finishes in the facility.

The first goal of the project was to create a 44-bed Special Needs Unit.  To accomplish this, Eagle Way and Daisy Path were renovated with new finishes.  A building addition was created to the north that connects Eagle Way and Daisy Path to provide a design that features a circular walking path for residents.  The addition also provided bathing spas, two new side by side rooms, dining areas with adjacent kitchens, food preparation room, food storage, living room, and a combination nurse station/charting area/med room.

Another goal for the project was to create a 23-bed Short Term Rehabilitation Unit.  To accomplish this, Chickadee Lane was renovated to provide semi-private toe/toe rooms and  a building addition was created to connect Chickadee Lane to the Skybridge.

Finally, minor modifications and interior finish renovations occurred at the main lobby, Board Room, main corridor, and Café.
